As much an automotive icon as any, the 356 Porsche represents both a silhouette and packaging philosophy which is instantly recognizable. As relevant today as it was innovative at it's inception more that half a century ago, a direct linage can be traced to it's great, great, great, great, great grandson the 991.

Developed by Ferdinand "Ferry" Porsche in the late 1940s, the 356 was based on the idea that "...if you had enough power in a small car it is nicer to drive than if you have a big car which is also overpowered. And it is more fun."

The iconic design of the 356 was penned by designer/engineer Erwin Komenda, fresh off his prior legend of automotive design the Volkswagen Beetle under the guidance of Ferdinand Senior.

The Baja Bug is an icon of So-Cal car culture. Typical of off road builds no 2 are alike, and their beauty lies in the personal touch and craftsmanship of their rough neck builders. These cars were originally built up in the late 60s as a low budget means of tearing up the deserts and beaches of Southern California and across the boarder into Mexico. They compete in events like the Baja 1000 to this day in the infamous Class 5. They play a supporting roll in the Dana Browns incredible documentary "From Dust to Glory" which if you haven't seen I highly recommend!

Inspired by the Willys the Land Rover was first developed by chief designer Maurice Wilks as a farm work truck in Wales in 1947. The Land Rover Ninety and One Ten were sold virtually unchanged from 1983 until 2015.

Love'm or hate'm from a maintenance standpoint, I think we can all agree a nice carb set up with some polished trumpets is a beautiful thing!

All three shirts 100% made in the USA. Navy and Black are 100% cotton. Deep Heather is an ultra soft cotton poly blend.

Curb's roots in car design began in 1979 drawing body layouts, lofting curves and cutting sections through sheet metal structures.

In 1970’s England, bodies were drawn by hand; at full scale, on aluminum plates coated in white enamel with solid gold leads, hammered and sharpened to a chisled edge. The drawings were accurate, within a fraction of a millimeter.

In the early 80’s we worked in West Germany, drawing on mylar with ink. The German toolmakers appreciated nice drawings and liked us to add a 0.25mm “luft” space between spot weld flanges for joint sealer. This was the difference between British and German body engineering, a psychological gap between perfection and failure.

By the mid 80’s, computers took over and the art of body drafting was lost forever. Curb Industries is rooted in this art form, and we like to think that the craftsmanship we developed in those early years exists today in everything we do.
