This is # 01 in a series of The Timeless Racer shirts to come, designed by Daniel Simon.

The Timeless Racer is Daniel Simon's new book series about time-traveling racing driver Vic Cooper, who tackles championships and speed records in daring Masucci racing machines - over a time period of 699 years. This first shirt features Daniel's favorite view of the 2027 Masucci X-7 endurance race car: the iconic Italian machine in which Cooper got his first victory.

Printed in subtle grey on dark grey fabric, with vintage distressed look on neck and sleeves. The inside neck print features more technical data of the X-7. The shirt is designed, printed and packaged in California, with Daniel approving each single manufacturing step.

At a stunning size of 12" x 14" (30.5cm x 35.5cm), and with full spread images spanning 24" in width, this first book of a new fiction series will open the doors to a parallel history of racing. Daniel Simon designed for Bugatti, Lotus, Formula 1 and penned unforgettable vehicles for Hollywood movies like Tron: Legacy or Oblivion. This is his second book after Cosmic Motors.
Simon will present in this series over the next years fictitious racing machines at impeccable detail up to 50 megapixel, including vehicle specs and maps of the tracks they raced on. All vehicles and characters are explained through the carefully written story of racer Vic Cooper, who time-travels to the past and the future to compete in the most challenging motor races between 1916 and 2615. This is episode 1, the year 2027, written in English, French and German.

The foreword has been written by racing legend Jacky Ickx, who raced in the 1960s, '70s and '80s for many famed teams such as Ferrari, McLaren, Porsche, Brabham or Lotus. He is the only driver to have won in Formula One, Can-Am, Le Mans, and the Paris-Dakar rally.

There really is no modern equivalent of 1960s European coupés. Their stance and proportions beautifully convey a machine which begs to be driven, but their line work maintains a sense of class and elegance missing from today's boy racers. I'm convinced some one could pull this off in an A or B segment car, maybe I'm just a hopeless romantic. The Giulia is easily in my top 10 cars list.

The Baja Bug is an icon of So-Cal car culture. Typical of off road builds no 2 are alike, and their beauty lies in the personal touch and craftsmanship of their rough neck builders. These cars were originally built up in the late 60s as a low budget means of tearing up the deserts and beaches of Southern California and across the boarder into Mexico. They compete in events like the Baja 1000 to this day in the infamous Class 5. They play a supporting roll in the Dana Browns incredible documentary "From Dust to Glory" which if you haven't seen I highly recommend!

Compiled for aspiring car creators everywhere, H-Point provides a unique and comprehensive introduction to advanced vehicle packaging and design. Written and illustrated by Stuart Macey with Geoff Wardle, this book demystifies the automotive design process and allows designers access to an illustrious careers worth of knowledge. Stuart currently works as a studio engineer at the Hyundai Design North America studio in Southern California and teaches vehicle architecture part time at Art Center College of Design. Geoff is Director of Advanced Mobilty at Art Center

After 5 successful years and widespread adoption by most design colleges around the world, we wanted to make an eBook version for iPad. We took the opportunity to update and add some content based on customer feedback. These updates lead to the 2nd edition

Overall, we changed the layout to make it easier to read and added more color. Expanded the History, Ideation, Proportions, and Mobility chapters. New cover art. An additional 64 pages of content!

Here are some details.

Ch1. History separated out the timeline of events vs cars. Our goal was to look at the correlation between significant events or advances in technology that lead to changes in design direction. Added about 9 pages , was 7 now 16.

Ch2. Getting started is about the same , with a couple of different package samples.

Ch3. Function & Market segments , very similar

Ch4.  Ideation. Added a greater variety of vehicle types to show how the focus and amount of ideation will depend on vehicle function. + 10 pages was 7 now 17

Ch5.  Size and proportion Added a section on tape drawing, to describe the process of getting from 2D to 3D.

Ch6. Occupant Packaging added 4 pages to expand on rear occupants, describing how there is greater scope for rear occupant packaging vs front which is very constrained.

Ch7. Interiors changed the layout , expanded info a little on safety and introduced HMI
